After finishing breakfast, Ruan Qiu said bye to Xue Wu and returned to her familiar little nest to start watching TV shows and movies.

In the Infinite Flow world, she had no time for entertainment. Now that she had some free time, she definitely didn’t want to waste it. She wanted to watch more films and TV series to entertain herself, fill the void, and relax.

Before she could finish one episode, Jiang Yan replied to her message.

Jiang Yan: “Hi, Ms. Ruan!”

Jiang Yan: “Ms. Ruan, I recently wrote a new song and would like you to listen to it. Is that okay?”

Ruan Qiu’s typing fingers paused for a moment before she replied, “Is it an unreleased song?”

“Yes,” Jiang Yan replied quickly. “It’s okay. The inspiration for this song actually came from you, Ms. Ruan, so if you don’t like it, I won’t release it.”

Ruan Qiu didn’t know how to respond for a moment, so she simply opened the audio file Jiang Yan sent and started listening to the song.

Ruan Qiu had some understanding of rap music. She originally thought she would hear the other party’s voice like it was on double speed, but what flowed into her ears was unexpectedly a soothing prelude, with the guitar dominating the melody. It easily put her in a relaxed mood, and she couldn’t help but smile.

Jiang Yan’s voice had a bit of hoarseness when singing, but it also had a clear, youthful tone that was very catchy. The lyrics were about a young boy’s secret love. Ruan Qiu listened carefully and understood that it was a story about a boy meeting a girl he liked in spring. The girl was gentle and kind, and had helped him before, but it seemed she had feelings for someone else. The boy, unwilling to accept this, hoped that the next time they met, he could muster up the courage to confess his feelings to her.

As she listened to the song, Jiang Yan’s manager chased after him around the practice room, holding a chair, shouting, “You little brat, are you too big for your britches now? You worked so hard on that song, are you just going to hold onto it and not release it?”

Jiang Yan looked at his phone while running, and when he saw a new reply in the chat, he immediately stopped in his tracks, nervously checking for Ruan Qiu’s response.

His manager also stopped and asked him, “What did she say?”

Jiang Yan’s smile widened. “She said it sounds great!”

Ruan Qiu’s genuine feeling was indeed that it sounded great. Although she couldn’t understand why Jiang Yan said the inspiration for this song came from her, after she replied that it sounded great, Jiang Yan sent her a dozen or so messages, including emojis, expressing his excitement.

Ruan Qiu remembered the youngest teammate in her team in the Infinite Flow world, who blushed and would excitedly do push-ups whenever praised by others. She couldn’t help but smile and encourage Jiang Yan a few more times without asking him about the inspiration behind the song.

After chatting with Jiang Yan, Ruan Qiu was about to continue watching TV shows when her phone beeped again.

She picked up her phone and saw that Bai Jinyao had sent her a friend request.

Ruan Qiu: Is today a special day or something?

Ruan Qiu hesitated a bit. She didn’t want to have too much involvement with the female lead, but it didn’t seem right to reject the friend request outright. Ignoring it also didn’t seem right, and what if the other party had something important to tell her?

After some thought, Ruan Qiu decided to accept the friend request. She could just avoid interacting with her most of the time.

Just as she accepted the friend request, a message from Bai Jinyao popped up: “I’m sorry, Ruan Qiu!”

“I misunderstood you before,” Bai Jinyao continued, “I’m really sorry!”

Bai Jinyao added, “Uh, I mean, I don’t mean that you have to forgive me. I just want to apologize to you. If possible, I’d like to make it up to you.”

Bai Jinyao knew that even though she hadn’t publicly made any remarks about Ruan Qiu online, her silence was a form of expression. Many of her fans had attacked Ruan Qiu because of that incident before.

Bai Jinyao was too scared to directly issue a public apology on Weibo; doing so would seem like moral coercion, as if she were forcing Ruan Qiu to forgive her. She didn’t want to worsen her relationship with Ruan Qiu by making it seem like she was trying to force forgiveness upon her.

After observing and interacting with Ruan Qiu during this episode, Bai Jinyao’s impression of her had completely changed. Ruan Qiu was not the manipulative and ruthless person described by Cheng Tianya. Instead, she was straightforward, sincere, and resilient.

Bai Jinyao couldn’t understand why Cheng Tianya would slander someone like this. Didn’t she realize the harm such accusations could cause Ruan Qiu? Bai Jinyao couldn’t help but wonder if Cheng Tianya was still the same girl she knew at the beginning – gentle, kind, and determined to pursue her dreams even through tough times.

Cheng Tianya’s image had changed in Bai Jinyao’s mind, but their years of friendship couldn’t just be cast aside. Bai Jinyao thought that if Cheng Tianya apologized to Ruan Qiu privately after filming and promised not to do such things again, they could still be good friends.

When Ruan Qiu saw Bai Jinyao’s message, she felt a bit of a headache.

She knew from the plot that the original owner died with resentment in her heart. She wanted those people to apologize and receive the retribution they deserved. So, while Ruan Qiu could help the original owner expose the haters and paparazzi, and even deal with Cheng Tianya, she couldn’t forgive these people on the original owner’s behalf, including Bai Jinyao.

But now, being reborn into this world was the reward for clearing the Infinite Flow world. Ruan Qiu was now this world’s Ruan Qiu, and her decisions affected her own destiny, not the original owner’s.

After thinking for a while, Ruan Qiu cautiously replied, “It’s not necessary. I can’t decide whether to forgive yet. Let’s just continue as we were before. I’ll let you know when I’ve made up my mind.”

The procrastination tactic could handle anything.

Bai Jinyao had mentally prepared herself, so when she saw Ruan Qiu’s response, she wasn’t too upset. But she still couldn’t help asking, “Can I follow you on Weibo?”

“Sure,” Ruan Qiu said.

In Ruan Qiu’s view, following someone on Weibo wasn’t a big deal; it was a form of “social obligation”. Qiyin had previously told her a lot of gossip during their chats, saying that many people who followed each other were actually fake friends, and their relationships weren’t good at all.

So, Ruan Qiu followed Bai Jinyao back without any psychological barriers, completely unaware of the commotion their mutual follow caused.
