Xue Wu’s outfit seemed inspired by the black dragon robe from the dating show, blending it with a suit’s silhouette, comprising a long robe and trousers. The draping fabric didn’t flutter as he moved, and the silver patterns on the clothes shimmered under the lights, complementing the gold embroidery on the inner layer.

Thanks to half a month of proper nutrition and training, Xue Wu’s physique had improved, showcasing a perfect V-shape adored by designers and modeling agents—broad shoulders, long legs, exuding masculine charm with every move.

Accepting Ruan Qiu’s compliment, Xue Wu restrained his grin, bought the same snack as Ruan Qiu, and sat beside her on a bench, eating while listening to her recount her recent experiences.

“Lucia said she completed that outfit over twenty years ago and has been carrying it around, hoping to find her ideal model. She said she would give it to me as a gift and would help me with anything I needed in the future,” Ruan Qiu said, finishing her drink. “But I don’t think I need her help with anything, so I declined.”

Xue Wu quietly listened, smiling as he thought, “See, no one can dislike her.”

After finishing their food, they stood up, threw their trash away, and were about to head back to their respective makeup rooms when they encountered a woman wearing sunglasses.

Ruan Qiu didn’t pay much attention to the newcomer until the woman addressed her, “Ruan Qiu.”

Turning back, she saw the woman remove her sunglasses and give her a fake smile, “Hello, I’m Cheng Tianya.”

This was their first meeting.

Ruan Qiu stopped, tilted her head slightly, and directly asked, “What do you want?”

Cheng Tianya’s fake smile almost faltered. Seeing Ruan Qiu’s stunning appearance had already made her feel defeated, and now Ruan Qiu’s nonchalant attitude infuriated her further. Clenching her teeth, she said, “I think there might be some misunderstandings between us. I’d like to explain things to you. Do you have time tomorrow? I’d like to invite you…”

“She doesn’t have time,” Xue Wu interrupted coldly. “You can leave now.”

Cheng Tianya’s fake smile completely disappeared.

This was Xue Wu?

Only now did she realize the man beside Ruan Qiu was Xue Wu. Seeing his appearance, she quickly greeted him with “Senior Xue”, showing a hint of panic before concealing it.

In her mind, Cheng Tianya furiously questioned the system, “Your script must be wrong! According to the script, Xue Wu shouldn’t have participated in the dating show. He should be near death by now, not in this state. Does he look unhealthy to you? And he’s protecting Ruan Qiu!”

The system fell silent.

Indeed, according to the script from the Time Management Bureau, Xue Wu, though not a major character, had a predetermined fate. But now, his fate was entirely different from the script.

Not only that, but many other things were also off. For instance, Bai Jinyao hadn’t become a beloved figure in the dating show and hadn’t received the rewards she was supposed to. Ruan Qiu hadn’t left the show midway to meet her future husband…

While Cheng Tianya had disrupted the plot, the deviation of so many characters from their destinies was highly unusual.

The system initially worried, but then realized that as long as the world line didn’t collapse, Cheng Tianya’s advantage would only diminish. Why should it worry? The one who should be worried was Cheng Tianya!

So, the system silently watched as Ruan Qiu said to Cheng Tianya, “No, I refuse.”

Cheng Tianya wanted to argue further, but Ruan Qiu cut her off, “I don’t think we have anything to discuss. If photos of us talking are taken, won’t there be more rumors from the paparazzi?”

Cheng Tianya’s expression broke.

She opened her mouth but didn’t manage to speak before a familiar voice called out from behind her, “Yaya?”

Hearing her name, Cheng Tianya’s face turned pale. She hurriedly told Ruan Qiu, “You should go. If you don’t have time, next time…”

Qin Shuwen, having arrived beside Cheng Tianya, wrapped an arm around her waist and looked at Ruan Qiu and Xue Wu.

Panic surged within Cheng Tianya. She couldn’t push Ruan Qiu away but subtly tugged on Qin Shuwen’s sleeve, trying to draw his attention back to her. Forcing a gentle smile, she asked, “Shuwen, why are you here?”

“With my mom,” Qin Shuwen replied, glancing at her. “You forgot? K is her favorite brand.”

Detecting his reprimand for not informing him or bringing his mother, Cheng Tianya quickly apologized softly, “I’m sorry, Shuwen. I’ve been busy with work.”

Ruan Qiu, uninterested in their family matters, noticed Xue Wu’s face darkened upon seeing Qin Shuwen. She tugged his sleeve, ready to leave with him.

They had taken only a few steps when Qin Shuwen called out, “Please wait.”

Turning back, Ruan Qiu heard him ask, “Are you friends of Yaya?”

“No,” Ruan Qiu replied.

Cheng Tianya, hearing Qin Shuwen stop them, felt her hands start to shake. She mentally urged the system to quickly apply a suggestion to make him focus on her and ignore the others.

She glared at Ruan Qiu, thinking, Why is she here? Their fates were supposed to have changed. She married Qin Shuwen, so Ruan Qiu shouldn’t intersect with him anymore.

Why should Ruan Qiu effortlessly gain Qin Shuwen’s attention, just like in the original plot?

In the original plot, Ruan Qiu had easily won Qin Shuwen’s favor. Cheng Tianya had spent countless points and effort to create one encounter after another, gradually increasing his loyalty to 60%, leading him to marry her and support her financially and resourcefully. All these things Ruan Qiu had easily obtained in the original plot.

When Ruan Qiu and Qin Shuwen met by chance, Cheng Tianya had used paparazzi to blacken Ruan Qiu’s reputation, trying to drive her out of the entertainment industry, hoping she would eventually commit suicide due to online abuse.

She couldn’t let Ruan Qiu take everything she had worked hard for.

In those few seconds, Cheng Tianya devised numerous plans to ensure Ruan Qiu couldn’t compete with her. Seeing that the system didn’t do anything yet, she urged, “What are you doing? Apply the suggestion to Qin Shuwen now!”

The system, using a tone reserved for talking to a fool, said, “Did you forget something? You used all your points yesterday to reinforce your fans’ loyalty. I even asked if you’d regret it, and you said no.”

Cheng Tianya’s heart sank. She regretted it—fans were less important than Qin Shuwen.

She heard Qin Shuwen continue, “Sir, may I ask, is your surname Qin? Or is there someone named Qin in your family?”

…Not directed at Ruan Qiu?
