She Raised Zombies in the Apocalypse - Chapter 78
There were always rich people willing to come.
Even her own zombies, including low-level ones, could be led by her.
As long as she put on a bit of a show, she could definitely attract people. As long as Xia Zhiqing and the others were still curious about why her zombies are so obedient, they would encourage others to send their zombies over.
Of course, once the zombies were in her care, they would follow her lead. It was impossible for anyone to try to sneak around or figure out what was really going on.
San Wu called over a few zombies and made a few signs with bold lettering.
“Has your zombie gotten stupid? Does your zombie not listen to you?”
“Guaranteed to learn fast! Zombies trained in ultimate hunting moves—easy to find resources, but hard to come by smart zombies!”
“Even the fortress lords approve! Zombie Acting Class starts today!”
San Wu also posted the prices below.
For the “fake death” skill, one zombie requires a payment of twenty sets of large-size clothes or twenty pounds of fresh meat. Equivalent small appliances or household goods were also accepted.
Jiang Tian and the others were genuinely impressed by San Wu’s plan.
“Jiang Tian, when you advertise, add one more thing. For anyone learning the fake death skill, I’ll throw in a free bonus: zombie obedience training. I guarantee their zombies will be more obedient when they leave!”
“Oh, and remember, we can only accept a limited number of zombies per day—no more than ten a day. Also, we’re only taking soldier-class high-level zombies. No general-class or king-class zombies.”
If too many general or king-class zombies came, she wouldn’t be able to control them, and things could get out of hand.
“But… but what if those zombies see the food here?” Jiang Tian asked, wide-eyed.
“I’ll set up partitions. Once they arrive, they’ll be taken straight to the classroom. They won’t get a chance to see anything.” As for the owners of the zombies, of course, they wouldn’t be allowed inside.
“Oh, and make sure the zombies bring their own food. I’m not providing meals here.” San Wu reminded them, “Alright, take these guys for a stroll around the Second Fortress. We officially start class tomorrow.”
Jiang Tian was speechless. He felt this whole idea was unreliable! No way anyone would come!
Besides, people might think they could teach their zombies on their own.
He really couldn’t understand where San Wu’s mysterious confidence came from.
While some were enthusiastically setting up this strange training class, others were storming around in a foul mood.
In the Third Fortress, Wang Hai had finally made contact with a few trusted followers from his previous fortress who had accompanied Wang Haosheng.
“You’re telling me, a woman who can control zombies and rides a black panther ruined our plans and killed Haosheng?”
Wang Hai grabbed the messenger, “Is this woman named San Wu? Is she now living next to the Second Fortress?”
“I don’t know her name,” the trembling messenger replied, “but there’s a leader zombie by her side, and it has a lot of minions.”
“It must be her!” Wang Hai shoved the man aside in a rage, sweeping everything off the table onto the floor.
He stormed out to find Li Yushan.
“Fortress Lord Li, that San Wu killed my son, and now she’s cozying up to the Second Fortress and has some unclear relationship with Ji Lingbai from the First Fortress. Are you just going to sit back and let this happen?”
Li Yushan’s face darkened, his eyes showing a hint of impatience as they landed on Wang Hai.
“San Wu is just a minor character, nothing for me to be wary of. We should be more concerned about Ji Lingbai and Xia Zhiqing, not someone who’s connected to both of them. She’s just a woman—how much trouble could she cause?” Li Yushan quickly pushed down his frustration, letting a smile creep across his face as if he had changed moods in an instant. “Wang Hai, you’re getting too worked up. Come, sit down and have a cup of tea.”
After Wang Hai had been driven away from the Second Fortress, he’d finally realized his position and obediently handed over part of his stockpile of weapons.
Li Yushan was quite pleased with that. But what he really wanted was all the weapons. So, for now, he could still tolerate Wang Hai.
Seeing that Li Yushan had no intention of helping, Wang Hai silently cursed him but still wore an unpleasant expression.
“Come on, it’s just a woman,” Li Yushan chuckled. “Whether it’s before or after the apocalypse, women are naturally at a disadvantage compared to men—whether in terms of intelligence or physical strength.”
“In the end, more men survive in this world than women, proving that it’s still us men who run things.”
“And besides, she’s just an independent person. If she were the lord of a fortress, then we’d really have to worry.”
“Do you really believe the Second Fortress is that close to her? I don’t. People are the most complex creatures—what looks like camaraderie is just cooperation out of necessity. If you use your head and give San Wu some trouble, as long as you’re not too obvious, no one will care.”
Seeing that Wang Hai was tempted, Li Yushan fanned the flames a bit more, “Now’s the perfect time, with all the major fortresses recovering. If you’ve got a plan, act early. You need to avenge your son.”
Although Wang Hai loved himself more than his son, that didn’t mean he thought his son could just die without consequence.
Besides, San Wu was close to Ji Lingbai. Killing her and causing Ji Lingbai pain would be even more satisfying than avenging his son.
Wang Hai left, deep in thought. As soon as he was gone, Li Yushan narrowed his eyes and smirked.
“What a fool!” Li Yushan leaned back comfortably. “San Wu is clearly untouchable right now, and he’s still plotting? Idiot.”
Yes, Li Yushan didn’t underestimate women.
On the contrary, he valued anyone with unique ability, whether man or woman.
He had only said what he did because Wang Hai was the kind of fool who looked down on women. By playing to that, Li Yushan could better manipulate him into being his pawn.
The trusted aide standing by showed a grin. “If that idiot really causes trouble, it’ll be even better. We can use the situation to gauge the first and second fortresses’ attitudes, and maybe even uncover some secrets about San Wu’s village.”
Li Yushan nodded. He had always preferred not to dirty his own hands—he loved the art of using others to do the dirty work.
“I wonder what that woman’s background is,” Li Yushan mused quietly. “Anyone who can be friends with Ji Lingbai must have something extraordinary about them.”
After all, Ji Lingbai was notorious for being difficult and never wasting time on useless people or fools.
…
In the Second Fortress, it was lunchtime—both for the people and their zombies.
The ability holders who kept zombies felt like they had barely recovered their own blood supply, and now their zombies were back, looming over them with expressions that screamed, “Feed me your blood, or we’re going to have a problem.”
“Such a pain!” Someone muttered, gritting their teeth as they reluctantly let the zombie feed.
Just as the bloodletting was finishing up, a strange voice echoed from below.
“Stop struggling to control your zombie! The Zombie Training Program is here to help!”
“Stop crying over your zombie’s failure to catch prey! The Zombie Training Program is your answer!”
“Endorsed by Ji Lingbai of the First Fortress—training program, find San Wu!”
