She Raised Zombies in the Apocalypse - Chapter 92
The queen bee, three times the size of a regular bee, was the most intelligent among the swarm.
Today, she had finally found the source of the sweet fragrance that had captivated her for so long.
She was deeply enchanted.
The queen carefully groomed her slender mouthparts; beautiful flowers required tender care.
Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she swayed her backside and elegantly took off, ready for the ritual of collecting nectar.
The rose hadn’t reacted yet when her most vibrant flower was embraced by the queen.
If this were before the apocalypse, the queen wouldn’t need to forage herself, but given the current circumstances, she had to show respect for the delicate flower by doing it personally.
Realizing what was happening, the rose let out a loud, high-pitched scream.
It lifted off the ground and started to frantically flee.
The other mutated bees waited patiently, as there were more bees than flowers.
San Wu, watching this sudden change, suddenly realized, “Do these bees want to collect nectar?”
Ji Lingbai was still resting, so no one answered her.
The rose fled to San Wu’s feet, trembling and heartbroken.
It felt that its perfect flower had been ruined!
“You’re amazing, Rose,” San Wu squatted down and praised her. “Isn’t this what you wanted, to become stronger?”
The rose was confused, wondering how this related to fighting power.
“If you can attract mutated bees, I’ll make a beehive here, and these bees will surely protect you from now on.”
Thorny plants could bloom, but their flowering cycle was long, and the number of blossoms was scarce. If the bees relied on those flowers to survive, they would have perished long ago, so they had to feed on blood instead.
But her rose was always in bloom; the moment one flower produced seeds, the next would start to blossom.
San Wu had previously thought planting flowers wasted space and had no immediate use, so she hadn’t rushed to plant them. But now that mutated bees were coming, she scattered all the seeds she had saved into the soil.
The bees, tempted by the flowers’ nectar, didn’t even need San Wu to build them a hive; they found a nearby corner close to the rose and began to settle down in rows.
At that moment, Jiang Tian and Liu Yi arrived and asked, “Do you need us to help build a beehive?”
“No need; today’s mutated bees aren’t like the little ones that died from a single rock. Just leave them be; they’ll handle it themselves.”
Honey!
San Wu was already dreaming of honey water and honey-roasted meat.
Finally, she could arrange for some sweet treats.
She thought Ji Lingbai should know about this and planned to discuss honey pricing with him later.
However, when she reached Ji Lingbai’s room, she found no one there.
“Where did he run off to this time?”
San Wu closed the door and wondered aloud, “Did he go back?”
But she didn’t dwell on it for long and quickly ran back outside. She had sent Mei Li with fifty zombies to collect some corpse crystals and to look for reliable scattered vendors. She needed a few skilled chefs to run the cafeteria.
Meanwhile, Ji Lingbai hadn’t returned to the First Fortress. He was on a high hill some distance from the village.
Five ordinary king zombies surrounded him, and he needed to accumulate more high-level corpse crystals. Continuous battles would enhance his post-beast transformation abilities.
His wings had grown larger, completely enveloping Ji Lingbai.
In an instant, he transformed into a silver giant beast, with lightning crackling around his wings, each step igniting the thorny plants beneath him.
These five were just ordinary king zombies, slightly inferior to the lesser zombies, and sensing danger, they attempted to flee in an instant.
Unfortunately, Ji Lingbai wouldn’t give them that chance.
San Wu had deliberately taken Mei Li and the others further away to search for more high-level zombies. They had collected some corpse crystals, but for now, she had no intention of summoning more subordinates.
It wasn’t that they lacked food; their supplies of potatoes and seafood were more than sufficient.
The issue was that there weren’t enough people to cook. With so many mouths to feed, Jiang Tian and Liu Yi were overwhelmed with the workload.
“There aren’t many vendors around here,” San Wu frowned, having searched for quite some time without finding anyone.
“It shouldn’t be this way. There used to be a lot of people near the Second Fortress,” she muttered, puzzled as she returned home. On her way back, she passed by a neighboring village called the Hope Group.
Outside the village, a long line of people stood waiting. Several men with paper and pens were recording names while shouting, “Don’t crowd! We’re only accepting mid-tier and high-tier ability users. Low-tier ones, don’t bother lining up!”
“If you’re under twenty years old and have a rare ability, you can come in even if you’re low-tier.”
No wonder she hadn’t found many people.
San Wu watched the long line encircling the village, “So they’re recruiting people too, all crowded here!”
The Second Fortress was now full, and the Hope Group had decent strength. The group leader had a long-term partnership with the Second Fortress, making it an attractive place for vendors.
“Well, casting a wide net is one method,” San Wu sighed and shook her head. “But we can’t do that.”
After all, the most important point about casting a wide net was to make their village visible to them. Even strong vendors would be selective about their locations.
Not wanting to dwell on it further, San Wu decided it was time to go home for dinner.
Within three minutes, however, something stirred in the village.
An elderly couple was pushed out by a few strong men from the Hope Group.
